The following tutorial shows how to install the Gratis Red Addon on the latest version of Kodi.

Gratis Red is a Kodi add-on that is an updated version of ‘Gratis’ and a clone of Scrubs V2 that can be installed from ‘The Red Repo.’

This non-debrid option offers free streaming links for movies and TV shows without the need of a premium debrid service. This means services like Real-Debrid or TorBox are not necessary to access content.

While some links work fine, it’s important to note that most non-debrid add-ons have unreliable streaming links, lower quality playback, and can often buffer.

In the tutorial below we are using an Onn 4K Plus to install the Gratis Red add-on. These same steps also work for those using Fire TVs, Android TV/Google TV boxes, and any device compatible with the Kodi software.

How to Install Gratis Red Kodi Addon

• Launch Kodi
• Click the settings icon  

• Hover over Add-ons menu item and turn on Unknown sources if not already on

• Click back on remote to go back to the System page
• Select File Manager

• Type the following URL exactly how it is listed here – https://repo.redwizard.xyz and click OK

• Type “repo” or any other name you would like to identify this source as and click OK

• Click the back button on your remote until you are on the System screen. Then click Add-ons

• Click Install from zip file

• Select “repo” or whatever you named the media source in the previous step

• Click the zip file URL – repository.redwizard.zip

• Wait for the “Red Repo Add-on installed” message to appear

• Then click Install from repository

• Locate Gratis Red and click it

• Wait a few seconds for the Gratis Red Add-on installed message to appear

• Then go back to the Home screen of Kodi and select Add-ons, then choose Gratis Red.

• You have successfully installed the Gratis Red add-on!

The Gratis Red add-on is simple and offers only a few categories that include Movies, TV Shows, My Stuff, and Tools.

While there is an option to integrate debrid services like Real-Debrid, Premiumize, TorBox, etc. after testing we found that it did not work very well.

However, you can authorize Trakt and adjust other settings to customize your streaming experience.

What We Like

• Non-debrid free links so users can stream without a paid service
• Familiar Scrubs V2 layout makes navigation easy for anyone who’s used the original
• Trakt integration syncs viewing progress across devices
• Same Red Repo also hosts Genesis, SALTS, and Free Flow, which expands user options
• Tools menu allows customization of playback settings and source filters

What We Don’t Like

• Third-party source with no verified licensing for the streamed content
• VirusTotal flagged one questionable file in the host repository URL
• Free links are hit-or-miss and can buffer
• Debrid integration is built in but doesn’t work reliably
• Easy to confuse with the original Gratis addon from the Diggz Repository
• Older Kodi versions may experience errors

Is The Gratis Red Addon Legal?

VirusTotal found one suspicious file with viruses/malware within The Red Repo URL. We should always protect ourselves with a VPN when streaming content from unverified 3rd party add-ons.
